More successes of Polish-bred horses in the Middle East

2024-02-06

This past Monday marked the end of another high level Arabian horse show in the Middle East. This was the fourth edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival title show which hosted the inauguration of the Global Champions Arabians Tour project - referring to the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour showjumping competition series. This season, it will be accompanied by top-ranked Arabian horse shows in selected countries, with unprecedentedly high prize money. Not surprisingly, this year's edition of the Qatar show attracted stars of the show ring, including several former world champions.

In this strong competition, horses bred in Poland did very well once again. Michałów-bred Emarella (Sahm El Arab - Emandorella) born 2018, representing Al Jassimyah Farm from Qatar, won the class in magnificent style (with a score of over 93 points), and won the bronze medal in the senior mare category in the championship. In turn, her former stablemate, also bred in Michalow Wildona (Shanghai EA - Wilda) born 2014, with a similar score also won the class, and in the championships took the place just behind Emarella. Recall that Wildona is one of the highest bidding mares of the Pride of Poland 2023 auction, sold to Hanaya Arabians in Switzerland. The highest scored mare of this show and winner of the gold medal in the senior mare category was the great-granddaughter of Michałów Stud' bred Kwestura - AJ Kayya, with a score of 93.79, bred and owned by Ajman Stud from the UAE.

Al Shira'a Arabian Horse Show - UAE

2024-02-02

On January 28-30 in the United Arab Emirates took place the prestigious (ECAHO-A), international Al Shira'a Arabian Horse Show, at which horses of Polish breeding and origin did very well against the world's best.

One of the highest-scoring horses (92.40) was the Janów Podlaski-bred mare Estonia (Palatino - Esparta) owned by Yousif Al-Ali, she won the class by collecting a set of 20s for movement. She defeated, among others, the daughter of Michałów Studb bred Emandoria - AJ Emana (by AJ Mardan) bred and owned by Ajman Stud, who ultimately took 4th place. The prize money winning top five of this class was closed by Michałów Stud bred Flaminga (Esparto - Forminga) owned by Talal Almaskari.

In addition, the top fives included: three-year-old daughter of Ekatera (bred by FHP Giewont Sp.z o.o.) - J.M.H. Hajer as third, her half-brother - J.M.H. Lorance won the senior stallion class in group A, and fourth place in the senior mare class group A belonged to Ajwan Al Zobair - daughter of Michałów's bred Pistoria sold to Al Zobair Stud. Two horses of Polish descent appeared in the championships, winning bronze medals. From second place in the class with a score of over 92 points was the mare Bidayer Al Badr out of Gaja Luna (bred by Chrcynno-Palace Stud) bred and owned by Badr Al Ali and, also from second place in the class of the oldest stallions - Equiborn K.A. (owned by Nathalie De Haes) - out of Michałów' bred Espadrilla. It must be admitted that the horses with Polish roots owed their good results largely to their movement, which stood out against the rest of the stakes. Places even in the top five of the classes were worth taking part in this show - for fourth and fifth places a horse could win the equivalent of 2500 Euro, for winning a class the equivalent of almost 7600 Euro, while medals were amounts ranging from PLN 12600 to almost 25500 Euro.

All Nations Cup finals, Aachen

2023-09-27

As many as 15 horses of Polish breeding or ownership were competing this past weekend at the All Nations Cup finals in Aachen, Germany. The most successful performance was completed by Lubochnia Arabians winning the Junior Mare Silver Medal for D Leen (bred by Dubai Stud). On the other hand, great credit should be given to Polish state and private studs for the fierce and often even fight in the classes, which resulted in such a large turnout of Polish horses in the finals.

Successful performances were scored by horses sold during the recent Pride of Poland auctions - both the stallions Kabsztad and Pinito - purchased for Flaxman Arabians during last year's auction - entered the finals, as well as Babetta, by the same owner - purchased at the auction this year and presented by Janów trainer Mateusz Tokarski.

The booth of Poland - the honorary guest of this year's Nations Cup in Aachen - attracted a lot of interest. Among other things, it was possible to buy there a very elegant edition of the new book "Ekstern - Tribute to the King" published by The Arabian Horse Magazine
